Election Day

Well, the Prime Minister has confirmed the day of elections in the UK as May 5th, 2005.
And all I hear are people disillusioned and confounded by the utter lack of representation that is available to them.
It is too clear that the ethos and values in their hearts have been fundamentally disjointed from them by the ethos and values of their leadership. They may dismiss this as the inevitable conclusion of fate, they may not feel that anything else could ever be possible, but deep down, they know that all is not right.
For a long time, I felt despair at the social and political web around me. A disgust with all that was being pushed onto me. All the attitudes, the goals, the reasons to do things a certain way.
And from there, it led to frustrated apathy: “…Nothing will ever change, so I don’t want to be a part of it; I’ll just do my own thing and get by.”
But I found that I can make a difference. Whatever decisions I take, whatever personal changes I make, to the extent that I engage myself in the world, the world around me absorbs that influence. By everyone’s conscious actions and ideas, the world slowly changes.
“If I just do something, the world will change”. Just something. Something that feels right to me. It might not feel comfortable to me, it may be a challenge, but deep down I know it is the right thing to do.
And slowly society evolves. Occasionally revolts. Keeps turning, always moving. In fits and starts.
There is so much around us now that needs to change. We need some fast evolution.
What shall we do about it?

The Election is over.
When I looked at the new UK political map at the BBC, I couldn’t help noticing something…
Is it just me, or is there a Dragon in Wales - bowing its head and unfurling its wings? Take another look…
Wales doesn’t …
