Spirituality & social activism

It is not often recognised that there is an intrinsic link between spirituality and social activism.

Spiritualists are commonly viewed as people whose ideals are a far cry from our wordly reality and whose time is spent indulging in the bliss they might find within, but not without. Their quest is one for Knowledge.

Activists, on the other hand, are the ones out on the street, marching and attempting to shake up the social order. Their cry is for Action.

Yet, surely, knowledge without action is futile, while action without knowledge is unwise. There needs to be equilibrium, the two need to exist in balance with each other. Read more…

Election Day

Well, the Prime Minister has confirmed the day of elections in the UK as May 5th, 2005.

And all I hear are people disillusioned and confounded by the utter lack of representation that is available to them.

It is too clear that the ethos and values in their hearts have been fundamentally disjointed from them by the ethos and values of their leadership. They may dismiss this as the inevitable conclusion of fate, they may not feel that anything else could ever be possible, but deep down, they know that all is not right. Read more…
