The quality of football was eclipsed by the quality of play acting, diving and general un-sportsmanship. I get the impression of an organisation (world soccer) imploding. Inflated wages, too many games for the players and too much pressure all round. In a way the Zidanne incident seemed to be a perfect symbolic end to a dissapointing tournament. I also had a bad taste in my mouth following this tournament. The quality of football was eclipsed by the quality of play acting, diving and general un-sportsmanship.
