Channel

In audio recordings, the term channel refers to a single stream of audio information. An audio file may have one or more channels:
- One channel = mono (or monophonic) sound
- Two channels = stereo (or stereophonic) sound
- Four channels = quadrophonic (or quadrosonic) sound
